It can be a lot of fun to photograph the great outdoors with scenic vistas and amazing wildlife. In this meetup, we'll review the basic camera settings, focusing on the best settings for landscapes. We'll discuss some of the techniques you can use in your landscape and wildlife photography. Then we'll put your new knowledge to work with some fun and challenging exercises.
The venue features 2 small ponds with ducks, squirrels that roam around, a cement foot bridge, a creek that connects both ponds, and a spectacular view of the Ohio River.
Note: Smartphones are allowed for those who don't have a camera.

Would you like to learn how to get out of "auto" mode" and go right into the RAW setting and the into the Manual Mode? Please join me for discussion, questions, and answers as we explore and discuss how to take gorgeous, jaw dropping photos. The theme is "Beginner's Photography Class". I'll show you the necessary skills and techniques used to enhance the composition in your photos. A photography challenge will be presented. The photography triangle will be discussed as well as shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. Alms Park has a two-story Pavilion, a Large Pergola, and a beautiful overlook to the Ohio River. Parking is free on the same side of the road as the Pavilion.

Would you like to shoot the Autumn leaves and Landscape that Fall brings? This park in East Walnut Hills in Cincinnati has many trees and benches. This park has two levels connected by a set of concrete steps. I'm sure the many trees will have colorful leaves at this time of year. I'll also show you how to come out of "auto" mode and into Manual Mode/Raw setting for jaw-dropping composition. A photography challenge will be presented. All skill levels are welcome. Discussion and questions are always welcome. In addition, the booking policy does state a photographer under the age of 18 may also attend a meet up class when accompanied by an adult photographer. Did you recently get a new camera? Would you like to learn the settings? Let me take you out of "Auto" mode and into Manual Mode/Raw setting on your camera. You'll obtain jaw-dropping photos that produce a "wow" factor. The Photography Triangle will be discussed and a photography theme will be presented. Ault Park in Cincinnati has a two-story pavilion, an overlook and a front yard that has lots of rows of flowers. Free parking is in a “circle” type format on each side of the pavilion. You may make great subject choices, but have ever really considered your background choice? I will show creative and and inexpensive ways to create backdrops and also natural elements for back grounds as well. We will choose some subjects and show you how the right background will not over power the subject but how to make the subject pop. This Park in Covington has an awesome view of the Cincinnati skyline, several seats and tables, bench swings, and a gazebo. I'll show you how a shallowfull depth of field can contribute to an awesome photo.

Shooting in Manual Mode/RAW Meetup
Are you new to photography? Do you feel "stuck" in "auto" mode and the jpg setting? Let me show you how to leave "auto" mode and the jpg setting and go right into Manual Mode using the RAW setting. Using this mode and setting allows all the data to enter the sensor resulting in crisp, sensational photos. Devou Park has a magnificent view of the Cincinnati Skyline, a gazebo, and a brand new, reconstructed concrete overlook with curved stairs, and several round tables with chairs. There are also bench "swings" that are positioned toward the overlook. I'm sure the photos you take will be fascinating, jaw dropping, and full of great composition.. Parking is free in the parking lot at the overlook site.

I'll show you the methods and skills needed that mimic a tripod so you can still take fantastic photos. A photography challenge and informational handout will be presented.
